FAQs

How soon can I start working?

In the staffing industry job availability changes on a daily basis.  Once the application process is complete, applicants are considered based on their skill set, work history, job requirements and availability.

What is involved in the application process?

The application should be completed in its' entirety as it clearly outlines your work history, preference of shift, type of work preferred, rate of pay you are seeking and whether you are interested in party time, temporary to preform project based assignments.

After the application has been completed, you will interview with a recruiter where you will hav the opportunity to discuss your work history and what you are looking for in future opportunities.  The recruiter will work to identify your strengths so that he/she can more accurately determind the work environment in which you will be successful.

Once you have completed the interview with a First Choice Personnel representative and based on potential openings you may be set up for a plant walk through or on site interview where you will see firsthand what the job involves.  if at any time there is an offer and acceptance of employment you will be asked to complete additional paperwork to include the I-9 and tax forms.  This will be followed by an orientation process where you will learn more about policies and procedures.

If I am not interested in a certain position when it is offered, is it all right to turn it down?

Not every job is going to meet your expectations.  If you are not interested in a position, you are free to decline.  We will continue to work to identify suitable positions based on your skills, preferences and availablility.

What if I am on an assignment and decide it is not for me?

Open and timely communication is critical.  Please contact our office during one of your breaks should you feel the assignment is not going to work out.  Just as you have expectations of our office so does the client.  Once you notify our office about your decision to leave the position we can begin working on a replacement in hopes of keeping both you and the client happy.  Should you walk off the job without notifying our office we will consider this job abandonment which could impact our ability to place you on future assignments.

How often should I contact your office after an interview?

Following the interview you should contact your local First Choice Personnel office on a regular basis to make certain we have current information regarding phone numbers, shift preferences and to offer other updates that you feel may be benificial.  We realize that it is not always convenient for you to check in on a daily basis; you are simply encouraged to stay in touch with our office frequently so we are aware of your availability.
